- Reflection -
Never would I have imagined that throughout my years at Florida International University I would have gained so much personal, academic, and professional knowledge through traveling.
The experiences I have encountered have contributed to the globally aware citizen I have become today. Not only was I learning about all these places, but I got to visit and contribute in a positive manner in different cities and countries, changing lives along the way... mine included.

I have gained a wider perspective on the viewpoints not only in Miami, but around the world-- Costa Rica, India, Taiwan, Egypt and much more. Through my international relations classes, environmental classes and asian classes all falling under global learning classes I have a better understanding of the issues that encompass our world. It is interesting to see how everything is interconnected. One action affects another leading to a chain reaction.

As I got older I realized all the things I have taken for granted-- running water, electricity, even an education. I want to spread what I have learned. Spark an interest in youth to continue pursuing their dreams regardless of what anyone may tell them. I want to gain more experience in the field of teaching by volunteering and doing internships regarding education. This will hopefully lead to me applying and becoming a Peace Corps Volunteer. Change can be made in many ways and I feel as though I could create an impact through the Peace Corps, personally touching the lives of people by living in their community and seeing what they must overcome.
I have been involved in many organizations and projects that led to the skills I have acquired throughout my five years at Florida International University. I have learned how to communicate more effectively contributing to well thought out planning. Without these qualities ideas would remain just that. There needs to be a plan and with time you learn what works and what doesn't. But failure only leads to success.
